Antique Moroccan ‘Harira’ ladle
This stunning ladle has stirred some serious vats of Harira soup! Harira is a hearty traditional soup made with vegetables, chick peas and small pasta or rice. It is served everywhere as a healthy, cheap staple.
This one was used in the UNESCO heritage site of the J’maa el Fna in Marrakech and was sold to me by the very old man whose family has run this kitchen for generations. He thought I was mad to want it and tried to sell me a new steel one instead!
